popculturebrain: Underrated in 2011 - The Hour continued to prove that British television wipes the floor with almost everything that America puts on the air. I get that a lot of US TV is trashy, but when it’s good, it’s SO MUCH BETTER than anything made over here. Like, a MILLION TIMES better. (And no-one was very bothered about The Hour over here, either. ‘Cos why not just watch Mad Men?) British TV has worse writing, derivative scenarios, and poorer production values. Plus our sitcoms are all about farcical scenarios and recycled jokes (or if it’s after 9PM, masturbation, farting, and saying “wanker” a lot.) Which I guess is all some people want, but still.
